The use of digitalization technologies and Artificial Intelligence in the world of healthcare reveals great opportunities to benefit and improve patient care, reducing costs and improving global health. We can find many medical areas that are already getting the benefits of this new wave; however, others like hematology, infectious diseases, and neglected tropical diseases still remain one step behind. SpotLab is fighting to bridge the gap.

We are a multidisciplinary orchestra with gender parity where engineers, medical doctors, clinical researchers, business managers, etc. , with different professional backgrounds complement each other.
Main tasks:
- Manage ongoing projects in the intersection of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) / infectious diseases and AI.
- Establish partnerships and co-design projects with research centers, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies.
- Write scientific protocols, research papers, and concept notes.
- Deploy and evaluate SpotLab’s technology in LMICs.
- Explore clinical problem areas, test solutions, and create new services to unleash the power of AI.
- Represent SpotLab at conferences, technical workshops, and other public events.
- Reimagine the experience of users in relation to the SpotLab’s products and services.
- Work closely with experts from the different areas of the company, detecting improvements and new opportunities.
- Translate all that magic and crazy ideas into feasible and concrete plans, with different activities, deliverables, and tasks well documented for the development team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Global health researchers, medical doctors, epidemiologists, biologists, biotechnologists, pharmacists, or any other degree in life sciences and engineering. A PhD is a plus. But titles do not blind us; if you think you are the perfect match, keep applying!
- Previous experience in the area of global health or infectious diseases.
- Field experience in LMICs.
- Skills in relationship building and negotiation.
- Experience writing scientific articles.
- Passionate about innovation and driving change in the healthcare sector.
- Knowledge and/or interest in digital technologies and AI.
- Expertise in the field of product development/management is a plus.
- Natural curiosity, always on the lookout for new ideas and ways to improve processes, products, and services.
- Knowledge of a range of innovation tools and methodologies (e. g. , design thinking, rapid prototyping, and agile delivery) is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects all at once.
- Ability to make clear decisions and map out goals for the team.
- A dreamer soul and empathic heart, with the urge to create a positive impact in this world.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (Spanish and English).
- Ability to work in a small team, full of multidisciplinary people and a fast-changing environment.
- Ability to deal with uncertainty, autonomy to explore new paths, and dare to walk the unwalkable.
- Encouraged to try new ideas, willing to share points of view with workmates.
- Willingness to take risks and the ability to stay persistent.
