As an Inside Client Solutions Executive (iCSE), your primary focus is aimed at following up leads, developing, proposing, and closing CS/PS services business with primarily our commercial and some of our enterprise accounts in Southern EMEA (SEMEA). You will work closely and collaborate with our PS field sales, PS presales, and account teams but own, manage, and are responsible for your piece of the services business.
The iCSE role requires you to work closely with our field sales teams, proactively reach out to and follow up with customers (remotely), understand their needs, and position the right services portfolio which helps them realize the value and achieve success with VMware solutions.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
- Establish a good relationship with your peers in the Digital Sales Centre, our account teams, and the wider CS/PS field sales and management teams.
- Understand and learn VMware’s proposition, solutions, and our services portfolio.
- Understand and learn the tools we use, how we scope, price, and propose our services portfolio to customers.
- Reach out to customers to understand their needs and work on opportunities where VMware CS/PS is or will be involved.
- Learn from your peers, develop, and drive your own pipeline to achieve services targets.
- Learn how to manage and update your forecast to PS sales management.
The iCSE is completing most tasks with some guidance while learning in the beginning but clearly taking more and more ownership as the journey develops - there is no limitation on what they can achieve. Working in a matrix organization, addressing customer needs with a broad portfolio of solutions and services while navigating internal processes can be challenging though. This is a key area to get up to speed. We need eagerness, energy, and the ability to learn quickly, strong analytical skills but also good administrative skills and accuracy.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Getting in front of account managers and sales leaders, making your presence known internally at VMware and showing the value we as PS/CS bring.
- Developing smaller to mid-size services sales proposals.
- You will be responsible for working on services opportunities that span from rather standardized $10k - $50k services engagements up to more complex custom services engagements within a $100k-$200k range. Our proposals address the customer business and/or technical requirements combined with the VMware solution which translates into a Statement of Work (SoW) agreement and/or commercial offer for other CS/PS services standalone or as part of a larger VMware offer to that customer.
- Working closely with and orchestrating the support from our PS pre-sales solutions architect for scoping and proposing the right set of services during the sales cycle.
- You will be responsible for managing the administrative tasks and tools that belong to the role.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
The aim of the team is to lead and accelerate many opportunities from initiation to closure in a certain quarter, meet quarter budget and closing while collaborating with different team members such as other iCSE teams as well as the different commercial Account Managers. Where is this role located?
Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
