The Junior Technical Director plays a vital role in supporting the technical aspects of media production projects, with a focus on projection mapping, interactive installations, light shows, and event media productions. They work closely with senior technical staff to assist in managing the technical team, coordinating equipment setup, and ensuring the successful execution of projects to deliver immersive and impactful experiences for live events and installations. Key Responsibilities:Technical Planning Support: Assist in the technical planning and execution of media production projects, including projection mapping, interactive installations, light shows, and multimedia presentations for events. Support senior technical staff in ensuring that technical requirements align with creative concepts and client objectives. Project Media Definition Assistance: Support senior technical staff in the execution of technical project definition for media production projects, including aspects such as media resolutions, codecs, frame rates (fps) definition, and media layouts with After Effects. Assist in ensuring compatibility and optimization for various output formats and display devices. Render Planning Assistance: Aid in coordinating render planning processes, assisting in defining efficient ways to render complex 3D scenes and animations. Assist in optimizing render settings and managing render farm resources to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Interactive Installations Assistance: Assist in the technical definition of interactive installations, collaborating with senior technical staff and creative teams to identify and specify necessary interactive elements such as sensors, cameras, touchscreens, and other hardware and software components. Lighting Design and Control Support: Provide support in designing and implementing lighting schemes and control systems for events and installations, under the guidance of senior technical staff, to create dynamic lighting effects that complement visual content and enhance the atmosphere and mood of the space. Equipment Procurement and Maintenance: Coordinate equipment rental or purchase, ensuring that all necessary hardware, software, and technical infrastructure are available and properly maintained for each project. Including taking care of the storage of every equipment acquired by the company. Client Communication and Collaboration Support: Collaborate closely with clients, producers, directors, and creative teams under the guidance of senior technical staff to understand project requirements, provide technical recommendations, and communicate progress updates and technical specifications effectively throughout the production process. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Multimedia Design, or a related field. Some experience (typically 1-3 years) in technical production roles within the media, entertainment, or events industry, with exposure to projection mapping, interactive installations, light shows, and event media productions. Familiarity with post-production and 3D software such as Cinema 4D and Blender, with a special emphasis on After Effects. Familiarity with projection mapping software (e. g. , MadMapper, Resolume Arena), media server systems (e. g. , d3, disguise, Watchout), interactive software (Touchdesigner) and lighting control software. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and production requirements. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required for on-site event setup and production.
