The funding for these actions/fellowships and contracts comes from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility - Next Generation, within the framework of the General Invitation by the public business entity Red. es.
- Take ownership of the internal product roadmap to ensure continuous delivery.
- Design and implement ML model continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring processes for production.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ML models.
- Configure and automate ML model deployment, monitoring, and scaling in production.
- Implement monitoring and logging of ML models.
- Identify areas of improvement in ML model lifecycle.
- Collaborate with data engineers and ML engineers to select best ML model architectures and hyperparameters.
- Ensure the accessibility of the open software, and the replicability of their deployment via container-based architectures.
- Maintain the code infrastructure as open source repositories.
- Auditing the quality of the work submitted by providers and external collaborators.
- Mentoring junior members of the team.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Master’s degree or a PhD will be a plus.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years in leading engineering teams in the relevant areas.
- Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other comparable containerization.
- Demonstrable experience of automating tasks via Python, bash, or other scripting tools.
- Hands-on experience with Automation/DevOps tools (such as Github Actions, Gitlab, Jenkins, Ansible, etc. ).
- Experience with cloud technology; AWS, Azure/GCP, or OpenStack.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Strong knowledge of provisioning methods via tools such as Terraform and Helm.
- Strong knowledge of ML model development and deployment tools.
- Good knowledge of security best practices.
- Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Spanish and other European languages would be advantageous.

- The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department.
- We offer a full-time contract (37. 5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, and private health insurance.
- Duration: 4 years.
- Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
- Salary: 60, 000. 00€.
- Additional Expenses Grant: Each fellowship will be associated with a grant for additional expenses, such as IT equipment, travel, training, stays, etc.
- Starting date: ASAP - the incorporation for this vacancy must be before the 16th of December 2024.

Development of the recruitment process
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system. The recruitment process consists of two phases:
- Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position.
- Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated.
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
