Post-Doctoral Position In Qed Using 2d Correlated Electrons Icfo, Spain
Responder al anuncioPost-doctoral position in QED using 2D correlated electronsICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will be joining theQuantum NanoElectronics and NanoMechanics group led by Prof. Dr. Adrian Bachtold, and will be part of the new joint laboratory with Prof. Dr. Frank Koppens (ICFO) and Prof. Dr. Jarillo-Herrero (MIT). This project is part of the science and technology based on quantum materials, from advanced superconducting materials, to van der Waals materials, moiré quantum matter, collective phenomena, strong light-matter interactions and more. In particular, the project involves nano-electronic and nano-optical studies of quantum and moiré materials and devices. Many advanced tools will be available such as (diluation) cryostats with radio-frequency access, cryogenic scanning near-field microscope, etc. This project will focus on QED with correlated electrons. We will use photon modes with large quantum fluctuations to amplify the electron-photon coupling to a level where correlated electron states in two-dimensional devices can be modified. We will study twisted bilayer graphene coupled to THz split-ring resonators in dilution fridges. Minimum Requirements:Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph. D. -equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in Physics. The candidate should have a proven track record in two-dimensional materials and low-temperature transport measurements. ICFO is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates are selected exclusively on merit and potential on the basis of submitted application material. No restrictions related to disabilities, citizenship or gender apply to ICFO positions. ICFO abides by the principles of openness, efficiency, transparency, supportiveness, and international comparability as stated in the European Charter for Researchers and the European Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
