We are looking for a product support engineer based in Barcelona, with advanced demo lab, to install, service and maintain our range of analytical Raman spectroscopy equipment in the EMEA region. The role requires international travel across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to use your technical knowledge along with interpersonal skills to deliver service, advice and support which includes installation, maintenance and repair of Renishaw’s spectroscopy products. Reporting to the EMEA Sales and Business Development Manager and working together with the engineering teams and repair coordinator, you will help ensure coverage of our customer base and maintain Renishaw’s reputation for high quality service and response. What will be main duties? Installation and service of Raman spectroscopy instrumentationSystem fault finding, diagnostics and repairsCustomer training on instrument use and routine maintenanceScheduling of workload, organisation of customer visits and associated travelMaintaining and updating the companies CRM systems, including detailed technical reports, diagnostic information and VOCExtensive travel in EMEA region (around 60%)Ensure correct presentation, professional approach and working practice is executed, working towards a first fix and always maintaining a customer focusKey requirementsHigher level qualification (degree or equivalent) in Engineering (electronics, optical or mechanical) or related disciplineKnowledge of spectroscopy fieldDemonstrated high experience in service responsibilities in a similar field with deep knowledge of the field. Demonstrated high experience in managing difficult situations with proven resultsCustomer oriented. Used to work towards objectives and deadlines. Adaptability to new environments and scenariosFlexibility to work with different types of countries, cultures and teamsProactivity, results-oriented, decision-makingRespect to Quality and time managementExcellent spoken and written English language skillsA second language of the region will be highly valued. Experience within an Engineering environmentFlexibility to travel across the areaDriving licenceValuable requirementsAbility to work in an autonomous wayIt would be an advantage to have knowledge of Raman spectroscopy, other spectroscopic techniques, microscopy, material science, analytical measurements or systems engineering and to have previous technical support experience.
